A Short Note To My Younger Self

I came across a picture on Facebook which said “Write two words you would say to your younger self.” I thought about it and realised I can’t sum it all up in two words, so here is what I would write if I could send a letter back in time.

“You have so many talents which you have not discovered yet. I know you are insecure right now and don’t think you are particularly good at anything and not particularly clever, but when you find them you will realise you are good at most things you put your mind to.”

“There is a special group of friends out there for you! You are funny, you are likeable and you are worthy of good friendships. You had a rough run at school, but don’t let that experience define who you are as a friend. You have a place in your group! You are the listener, the caring, understanding, reassuring voice, the quiet calm, and your place in the group is special.”

“And last but not least, you are going to be a good, caring, content, giving Mum! Your children are going to grow up happy, trusting, social and confident, you are going to break the cycle of abuse and neglect, that alone is something very special, something not just anybody can do.”

And that sums up my letter! Thank You for reading 🙂
